After The End

I realized I haven't posted anything in months so heres another random post. I decided to post the prologue to "After the End". I'm not sure I will continue it but here it is anyways.

“Almost done, Jeb?” I said walking towards Jebediah sitting at the table on his laptop. “Yeah . . . just one more . . . almost there . . . and . . . we’re in!” Jeb said as he typed faster than I thought possible. “Good boy,” I said putting on hand on the back of his chair and the other on the table, “How long ya think we got?” While outlining things on the screen with his pinkie he explained, “Well, Jordin, see here where the line go-”

I cut him off saying “Jeb. I only need to know how long we have”

He sighed, “I’d say about 78 hours max”

“78, 78, 78,” I mumbled, “Only 78? Ugh. Mac!” Mackenzie turned towards me “Yeah?”

“How long until the builders are finished?” I was trying to stay calm, but I had started pacing. I mean, how I’m supposed to make sure the “city” gets finished and take care of 20 other teens, one of them a nineteen year-old pregnant girl, is beyond me.

Mackenzie looked a bit nervous, “um, they’re getting close but I don’t know if we have enough time.”

“They still don’t know exactly what they are doing right?”

“Correct. I still don’t feel good about this. I mean tricking 50 some odd builders so we can get this done seems bad.” I walked over and put my hands on her shoulders. “I know, but it’s only for a couple more days and if they want to stay and not be blown to smithereens they can. For now we just need to focus on making sure we survive.” ~ I stood on a chair and spoke to everyone

“Alright everybody it started in Japan already we only have a few hours ‘til it reaches us. So make sure you have everything you and be in the ‘city’ before 2am. That’ll give us about 30 minutes until it hits Germany. That’s us. Okay, go.” I hopped off of the chair and they started rushing around getting ready. Jeb walked in step with me as I went to the entrance to the underground city. “Jeb you stay at the entrance and count heads I need to check on Nala. She’s 6 months along and I haven’t heard anything.” I walked farther in and heard Jeb shout good luck after me.
